WABC Thanksgiving Service Project

Food insecurity, or the inability to afford enough nutritious food to sustain a healthy lifestyle, is a growing concern on college campuses nationwide. In an effort to help address this significant barrier to student success, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church will host a donation drive from November 1 to November 24 for food, toiletry and school supply items benefitting Texas Southern University’s Tiger Market and University of Houston’s Cougar Cupboard. Scroll down to see the list of items. A Volunteer Opportunity to sort and box collected goods is on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 10:00am. Registration is not required. Collection Dates: November 1 - November 24 Donation Dropoff: WABC Cathedral Atrium Item List • Cooking oil • Spices • Vegetable broth/chicken broth, etc. • Canned chicken, beans, corn, mixed vegetables, & potatoes • Canned soups • Milk (shelf-stable) • White rice, preferably long-grained • Pasta • Pasta sauce • Snack items • Non perishable microwavable meals • Lentils • Granola bars • Bottled water
